A Random Piece of Information...

Tomorrow is the last day of the Spring Term at school for me. Then after the Easter Holidays it's just a few more weeks of school until my A Levels, eek! For those of you who may not know, A Levels are the exams you do in your final year of school in the UK, which you need to do well in to get the grades you need in order to get into your first choice university.

So at the moment it is all a bit stressful. I didn't really know whether I wanted to go to my school's Leaver's Ball to celebrate this July after exams - I find a lot of school events a bit embarassing really, but my friends managed to persuade me to go! Here is the invitation below:

Yes, the blurred writing is on purpose! I just wanted to keep where I go to school private :) I thought I would show you the invitation because I thought it was really pretty! xx

Mac Cream Colour Bases

So, I have been lusting after the Mac Cream Colour Bases for quite some time, and yesterday I finally decided that it was time to invest in my first two! The two shades I bought are Pearl and Hush.

^ Pearl is on the left, Hush is on the right.

Mac describes Pearl as a 'soft pale gold with an icy shimmer' - and that is a fairly accurate description. Do not be put off by the 'white' in the shade, as when applied to the skin it simply leaves a pearly gold sheen.

Hush is referred to as a 'soft pale peach with an icy shimmer' - I think Mac could have done a bit better than describe them all in exactly the same way! Hush is, however, a lovely light peach , and a shade which can be used for such a variety of things. You can use it as a blush, highlight and eyeshadow primer. The possibilities are endless!

If you have CCBs, do check whether you are able to apply them on the eyes/lips as some of the CCBs are not reccommended for use in those areas.

More soon! xx

OOTD

Hi everyone :)

I just thought I would show you all what I wore when I went to a friend's supper the other weekend:

^ The dress is from French Connection and the shoes are from Carvela.

For some reason the picture is really bad quality, even though I uploaded it straight from my camera (?!) so I apologise for that xx

Bubble Bath - OPI

I am so happy that it's the weekend! I felt really tired on Friday evening and am looking forward to being able to relax. I have a fair amount of work to do this weekend, but am going to the cinema tonight with one of my best friends to see 'The Bounty Hunter', which should be fun!

As promised, today I will review OPI's 'Bubble Bath.'

^ Bubble Bath

Bubble Bath is a beautiful colour. When I think of a bubble bath, I think of milky, soapy bubbles - and this colour totally reflects this image! It is a lovely, milky, light pink colour with a touch of white. I think this could be my favourite nail polish because it is so wearable and pretty :) I use Essie's 'First Base Base Coat' to provide a base for the polish, and then use OPI's 'Top Coat' to protect the colour.

What are your favourite OPI nail polishes? xx

Hopelessly in Love - OPI

I recently bought two nail polishes from OPI - Hopelessly in Love and Bubble Bath.

I will post about Bubble Bath as soon as I can, but today I wanted to show you all Hopelessly in Love. Hopelessly in Love is such a pretty milky-peachy-pink colour!

The shade might not be everyone's cup of tea as it is such a safe nude, but personally I love it. It is perfect for keeping your nails looking pretty and well kept, without making a statement. Despite being such a major nail polish brand, OPI polishes are not too expensive - they are £10 each and cannot be beaten for quality.

Mac Too Fabulous and Spring Colour Forecast

Hello everyone! Yesterday I went to Oxford Street in search of Ripe Peach Blush Ombre, Azalea Blossom Blush Ombre and Rhapsody In Two Mineralise Blush. Unfortunately, as I suspected, both Mac stores I visited had sold out of Ripe Peach. I did, however, still pick up the other two products!

^ Azalea Blossom & Rhapsody in Two

^ Azalea Blossom (from the Spring Colour Forecast collection) is absolutely gorgeous. It fades from a baby pink at the top ( which is similar to Well Dressed blush) to a light lilac, and then finally to a violet colour. It is such a beautiful product, and very unusual. I think that the best way to apply this product is simply to press your brush into the powder lightly 2-3 times, and then apply straight onto the apples of the cheeks/wherever you want to apply the blush.

^ Mineralise Blush in Rhapsody in Two - beautiful golden yellow colour mixed with a peachy pink. I know this has been one of the most popular buys from the Too Fabulous collection and I can see why. You can apply these colours separately, but when mixed it creates a lovely champagne pink colour. Highly recommended! xx

Chanel Nail Colour in 307 - Orange Fizz

I love Chanel nail polish. It is rather expensive at £16 each, but if you want to treat yourself you won't be disappointed. The polish applies like a dream and are really long lasting. Today I wanted to review a particular favourite of mine - Orange Fizz.

Orange Fizz is a deceptive name. In reality, this shade is a light peach/coral colour that can be built up for more intensity. It is perfect for the Spring as coral shades are everywhere!

^ Not very well applied, but hopefully you can see the general effect!

February Favourites

A little late, but better late than never! I have been steering more towards the pinks this month, perhaps it is in my desperation for Spring to hurry up! As I write this, sun is pouring through the windows, so perhaps my efforts have helped...

^ My favourite lipsticks of the month - (L-R) Illamasqua Liv, Fable and YSL's Rouge Volupte in No7, Lingerie Pink. All rather similar and I have previously talked about all of them, so will only briefly refer to them now. Liv is a lovely matte, lilac/blue toned pink, Fable is a gorgeous rosey pink, and the famous Lingerie Pink is yet another bubblegum, blue-toned pink.

^ Benefit High Beam. I really don't use this enough. Such a pretty pink highlighter with a subtle silver sheen.

^ The face/cheek products I have been using a lot (L-R) : Mac Studio Fix Powder in NC15, Mac Mineralised Skin Finish in Porcelain Pink and Nars Blushers in Deep Throat and Madly.

I have been very busy this month, in particular preparing for a music event in order to raise money for charity. With so many rehearsals, I didn't have time to apply liquid foundation, so just used this powder instead. Studio Fix powder is great because it is quick to apply, yet still provides good coverage. I have been using Nars Deep Throat on the apples of my cheeks and Madly to contour - a quick, simple routine which I really like.
